Google offers a nice tool to play around and build your own specialized Search Engine. Exciting ? .... maybe you could check out for yourself. It is actually a service that helps you in designing a search engine dedicated to certain domains or searching for only some type of information. In other words, it asks you to feed some extra information that is interpreted as constraints by Google Search Engine and it filters its results / refines its queries according to them. I tried my hand at it, to design an engine to search for BibTex Files. Its not optimised yet, still playing around with some of its options. Alternately, you could desing your own specialised search engine for any specific kinds of data, using some of the open source softwares available (Nutch, Heritrix appended with Lucene indexers)
